The 2017 IKEA Catalog was released online today with a collection of all new products ranging from couches to cups. Designed for people, not consumers, the featured products will only become more affordable, as the company vows, “the prices in this catalog can only get lower until July 31, 2017, never higher.”
This year’s catalog content has changed from the standard product gallery to a book containing 13 feature stories that highlight real IKEA customers and behind-the-scenes design techniques, including a “dorm-room chef” and how furniture can be made out of paper.
In addition to the stories, this year’s catalog features a 42-page spread of the IKEA kitchen line, SEKTION. The chapter plays on the versatility of the line, describing how kitchens can be used for more than just cooking. Socialization and sustainability also play a role in the SEKTION line, where colors and styles range from natural ash wood veneer to contemporary high-gloss.
